The Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) has taken yet another stride in advancing the cause of women empowerment with the launch of its Women Empowerment Council. Officially unveiled on January 30, 2025, this initiative is designed to focus on three critical pillars: health and wellness, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership development, aiming to equip women across sectors with tools for both personal and professional growth.
At the helm of this initiative are Ajuli Tulsyan, Editor-in-Chief of Edge & Essence, serving as the National President, and Divya Narayan, a seasoned Communications Strategy Consultant, taking on the role of Vice President. Supported by twelve accomplished council members, the council is set to lead transformative change, promoting equality, inclusivity, and resilience among women.
A Holistic Vision for Women Empowerment
The council’s agenda underscores the importance of addressing women’s needs holistically. Health and wellness, encompassing both physical and mental well-being, form the foundation of its approach. Recognizing that a balanced mind and a healthy body are prerequisites for success, the council plans to introduce programs and workshops aimed at helping women prioritize self-care.
Another cornerstone is entrepreneurial development, providing women with essential knowledge in finance, legal frameworks, technology, and marketing, coupled with invaluable networking opportunities. This focus ensures women are well-equipped to launch and grow their ventures while navigating challenges with confidence.
Finally, leadership training emphasizes self-sufficiency and resilience, preparing women to take on leadership roles and become trailblazers in their fields. A robust mentorship program is also in place, fostering intergenerational collaboration by connecting aspiring professionals with seasoned mentors.
