The latest addition to Ram Charan's blockbuster elevates the cinematic experience
In a year brimming with cinematic milestones, Game Changer, starring global icon Ram Charan, has solidified its place as the first Indian blockbuster of 2025. Directed by the visionary Shankar, the film, which hit screens on January 10, has garnered widespread acclaim for its riveting storytelling, stellar performances, and box office dominance.
Adding another layer of charm to this cinematic marvel is the introduction of the soul-stirring melody, Naanaa Hyraanaa. Sung by Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal, and composed by the musical maestro S. Thaman, the track is a harmonious blend of Western and Carnatic elements. It showcases poetic lyrics by Saraswatiputra Ramajogayya Sastry, with Tamil verses penned by Vivek and Hindi ones crafted by Kausar Munir.
Shot against the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand, the song’s visuals are as captivating as its melody. Its groundbreaking use of an infrared camera—the first for an Indian film—imbues the sequence with vivid colours and a dreamlike quality. Paired with the effortless choreography of Bosco Martin, the on-screen chemistry between Ram Charan and Kiara Advani is nothing short of mesmerising.
Thaman himself describes the song as — “a heartfelt creation meant to evoke deep emotions.” Speaking about the song’s integration, director Shankar shares, “We wanted something that would not just complement the narrative but elevate it. Naanaa Hyraanaa fits perfectly into this vision.
Game Changer’s plot sees Ram Charan portraying dual roles—one as a steadfast IAS officer and the other as a principled social reformer—supported by a stellar cast including Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, and Srikanth. Produced under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Zee Studios, the film is also making waves internationally, with its Tamil and Hindi versions resonating with diverse audiences.
With Naanaa Hyraanaa now gracing the big screen, Game Changer’s magical ride promises to continue enthralling viewers across the globe. It’s more than a film—it’s an experience.
