A child’s smile is more than an expression—it’s a gateway to confidence, yet thousands in India are born with cleft conditions that hinder their ability to eat, speak, and smile freely.
Since 2016, Himalaya Wellness Company’s Muskaan initiative has been a beacon of hope, providing free cleft surgeries and comprehensive care to children across India. Now, the initiative gains momentum with badminton champion PV Sindhu joining forces with Himalaya and Smile Train India to amplify awareness and ensure more children receive life-changing treatment.
At a recent event in Hyderabad, Sindhu spoke passionately about the cause. “Confidence shapes a child’s future—it gives them the courage to chase their dreams,” she said. “Every child deserves that strength, and access to cleft care plays a vital role in ensuring they can grow up without limitations.”
The event also featured insights from Rajesh Krishnamurthy of Himalaya and Mamta Carroll of Smile Train, who highlighted the importance of early intervention. Since its inception, Muskaan has facilitated over 2,000 free surgeries across 600+ districts in India.
“Wellness goes beyond products—it’s about making a meaningful difference,” said Krishnamurthy. Carroll added, “Timely treatment not only restores a child’s smile but ensures they can lead a healthy, fulfilling life.”
Through public participation, including contributions from Himalaya’s Premium Lip Care Pack, the initiative continues to grow, proving that small acts of support can transform lives—one smile at a time.
