A beloved name in fine Italian cuisine, Toscano has become a firm favourite among Hyderabad’s HITEC City diners.
E2Mag discovers what makes this multi-city restaurant chain so special...
Originally launched in Bengaluru, Toscano has since expanded to Chennai, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, and now Hyderabad.
Founded by chef-entrepreneur Goutham Balasubramanian and Italian cuisine expert Chef Jean Michel Jasserand, the restaurant offers an authentic taste of Italy, perfect for family meals, corporate gatherings, or evenings out with friends.
The spacious venue seats 112 guests and features a well-stocked bar, bright interiors, and a cosy al fresco section. A blackboard highlights the monthly specials, while an extensive drinks menu—including wines, cocktails, and sangrias—complements the food. Notably, the cocktails are reasonably priced compared to other upscale restaurants in the area.

The menu is a celebration of Italian flavours, featuring salads, antipasti, hand-stretched sourdough pizzas, meat dishes, pastas, seafood, and decadent desserts. A standout is the Insalata di Formaggio di Capra e Pere —a vibrant salad with cinnamon-honey roasted pear, salt-roasted baby beets, wine-soaked grapes, confit cherry tomatoes, young greens, and pistachio-crusted goat cheese. The Burrata Salada, with creamy burrata, honey-roasted pear, artichokes, pine nuts, arugula, and truffle honey, is equally delightful.
For meat lovers, signature dishes like Chicken di Toscano (spinach and ricotta-stuffed chicken breast), Confit d’Anatra (tender duck confit with fig and orange salad), and Tagliata di Manzo (rosemary-pepper tenderloin on rocket leaves) are must-tries.
The monthly specials included a selection of millet-based risottos—we sampled the rich and creamy red rice version. But skipping the pizzas would be a crime—the Vegetariana, piled high with fresh veggies and molten cheese, was superb. Portions are generous, so order wisely.
Dessert is non-negotiable here. The Classic Tiramisu, paired with coffee ice cream and candied nuts, is heavenly. Equally indulgent is the Chocolate Kahlua Mousse—silky smooth, with almond tuile and crème anglaise. Both provided a flawless finale to the meal.
For larger groups, Toscano also offers set menus, ensuring a seamless dining experience. With its inviting ambience, stellar food, and attentive service, it’s no wonder this Italian gem continues to win hearts.
